What hotel do you recommend in Saskatoon?
New for the 2023 season our partner hotel is the Delta Hotels by Marriott Downtown Saskatoon, which has a fantastic setting overlooking the stunning South Saskatchewan River. Take a stroll along the Meewasin River Valley trail, explore the boutique shops or enjoy one of the many great restaurants downtown Saskatoon has to offer. The Delta Saskatoon was selected for it’s fantastic location, great service and perfect ambassadors of the Hatchet experience.

Upon booking your trip please notify them how many rooms and nights you will need for your stay and they will complete the reservation. Do you have walking/hiking trails?
Yes, we have a few trails that go around the island. One of our guest's favorite hikes on the island is the hike to the front point. The front point makes for a great hike as you have beautiful views looking west out across the lake and an up-close look at the eagles nest that has been atop the esker for many years. If you are lucky, you might even see the juvenile eagles taking flight. Take the hike at sunset for incredible views of the sun setting across Hatchet Lake. This hike is roughly 1.25 miles round trip starting at the lodge and has a couple spots to stop and take a break.
Departures and Returns
The last day of your trip is a travel day… You will leave the lodge at 9am, make one fuel stop en route to Saskatoon and arrive around 12 noon. We recommend you schedule your connection flight any time after 1:00PM
